What kind of tours do you offer?

We offer walking, running and biking tours. Either check the calendar for our tour offerings, or book your own tour for a date and time that work for you.

How much do tours cost?

Public Tours
Public tours, which can be found on the calendar, are $25-$35.

Private Tours
Private tours, which can be individual or groups, start at:

  • $50 for one person

  • $40 for 2-4 people

  • $35 for 5+ people

  • $32 for 10+

Private tour costs include the total mileage of an original tour route. Requests for longer tours will be $3 for each additional mile per person.

How fast do you walk/run/bike?

For group walking tours our average pace is 20:00-23:00 minutes per mile. For group running tours our average pace is 10:00-11:30 minutes per mile. In the event that there are 50+ people, the average pace tends to slow down a bit. Our group biking tours cruise at a comfortable pace, but everyone should have some familiarity and comfort riding in large groups along busy city streets.

When you register for a personalized tour, we travel at your pace. We'll ask what your comfortable conversational pace is and follow that for your tour. If during your tour you'd like your guide to slow down or speed up, just let us know. We're here to give you the best experience possible.

I don't think I can run a 5k. Do you run the whole time?

Let's just say this will be the easiest 5k of your life. (No joke, that's what all our previous guests have told us!) We make frequent stops at landmarks and art work. This gives your guide a chance to share a little interesting information and answer questions while also giving you a breather. If at any point along the route you need to slow down or rest for a bit longer, just let your guide know.

Do you provide bikes for the biking tours?

No. You must bring your own bike and helmet when you register for a biking tour. Don't have a bike? Rent one from JUMP bikes (subject to availability).

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Guests under 18 years old are required to wear a helmet. Those 18 and older are strongly encouraged to protect their noggins by wearing a helmet.

Do you offer longer tours?

Yes! We can personalize a tour for whatever distance you need. See above for pricing.

Do you offer shorter tours?

You can request a shorter personalized tour.

Where do we meet up with the tour guide?

Once you register for a tour, you will receive an email with a meeting location and additional information to help you prep for your tour.

What should I wear?

Comfortable running/workout clothes and shoes. Wear what you'd sport during a personal workout or run. And dress appropriately for the weather.

What should I bring with me?

You may bring whatever you feel comfortable carrying for the length of your tour. We suggest you bring as little as possible: your phone/camera and perhaps money (for after tour sustenance).

Will you provide water on the tour?

Please bring your own hydration and nutrition for your tour. There are also many restaurants located near our meeting locations for pre- and post-tour sustenance.

Can we take photos while on a tour?

Of course! That's part of the fun.

Are your routes wheelchair accessible?

Absolutely.

Can I bring children?

Walking and Running Tours
Yes. All tour routes are kid-friendly, but please keep in mind that most routes traverse busy city streets, alleys and crosswalks. Children in strollers or baby carriers are free of charge. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Biking Tours
Our biking tours are geared toward those who are comfortable riding in large groups along busy city streets. If parents want to bring children in bike seats they can. Although we do not suggest trailers or trailer bikes for our downtown tours. Children who ride in bike seats are free of charge. Any guest under 18 years old (whether riding solo or in a bike seat) MUST wear a helmet.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Friendly dogs are welcome on walking and running tours as long as they remain on a leash at all times. Please be prepared to pick up after your dog, if need be, along the route.

Are refunds available if I cannot make it to my tour?

No, we do not offer refunds (unless we need to cancel the tour, see below). You can, however, request to transfer your tour to another day/time if you notify us at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled tour. Please contact us for more information.

Will my tour be cancelled if there is bad weather?

Not likely. Tours will occur rain or shine. Sacramento generally has perfect weather. However, in the event of truly bad weather or emergency event (lightning, flooding, tornados, alien invasion, etc.) we will notify you of a cancellation and give you the opportunity to reschedule or give a full refund.
